Spy Report...Specialized New TT Bike.

Here's the first shots of Specialized's new TT creation, unvailed at the Tour of Romandie, under Fabian Cancellara. Not many details avaialbe yet, but look for the finished version at the Tour de France in July.

It's Friday 4/17 and the store has been jammin'. Everyone seems to have spring fever, especially with the great weather finally arriving after 2 weeks of rain. Store manager, Jordan, will be celebrating his 21st birthday tomorrow - wish him Happy Birthday on his Facebook, just search Jordan Fitch. Our new intern Kim, started our shop Facebook page today. Jonathan Erdelyi is back in the Jerz' Shore after a 6 month stint in Florida. Jonathan is working at the store and personal training. It's been great having him back and were looking forward to an entertaining summer.

Here at Cycles 54 there is an appreciation for custom bicycles. Whether it be a custom built frame or someones classic road bike, the value of a bicycle is limitless. Every bike is its own machine and has its own personality, it's own sense of being. Only the owner can ever determine a bikes true value because only they have put the hours in the saddle creating a bond that cannot be broken. Being a mechanic you get to see and work on many bikes, seldom do you see bikes that really stand out as works of art. Most of these beautiful machines can be found on the road, in the woods, or tucked away in the most secure corner of the house. Rarely do they ever make there way into the hands of a shop mechanic. At Cycles 54 we understand what these machines really mean to their owners and are handled with the utmost care and respect.

This will mark a start of bike checks of customers, team members, and staff that really have a close bond with their weapon of choice. Each standing out from the pack in their own way. A tribute if you will to riders and their rides. Starting us off is our shop supervisors BMX bike. Typically BMX bikes are pretty standard stuff but what stands out about this ride is the labor of love put into small details. The focus of this bike is the custom made hubs made by Kyle Rogers at Proto BMX. Although starting small with just BMX hubs Kyle has already creating other prototypes and will be expanding to mountain and road in the future with creative and new ideas.

Cycles 54 Team Bikes Arrive!

We were greeted today by our Fed Ex driver and seven boxes from Look USA. Team members were happy to see that their 2009 Team Bikes have arrived. Team members are riding a mix of 595's, 586's, and 585's based on their geometry requests and wanted ride characteristics. I chose the 595 Ultra, a lugged carbon frame, famous for being one of the stiffest frames on the market. We will be building our bikes up with SRAM Red Equipment this year. Stay tuned for photos of the complete bikes in the next few weeks.

2009 Bianchi's Arrive Today

Deliveries have slowed down now that it is the cycling off season, but our UPS Driver gave us some homework today when he dropped off our first batch of 2009 Bianchi's today. The first round of deliveries included some women's road bikes, new hybrid models, carbon C2C road bikes and the classic Pista fixed gear.

2009 Felts Arrive Today

Our first batch of 09 Felts arrived today. Some really cool cruisers in time for the holidays like the new Picnic, with plaid fenders...

Rob and Jordan go to Vegas

Rob dropped off some photos of their trip to Interbike. They both left some skin in the desert at the outdoor demo, but seemed to bounce back for the trade show at the Sands Convention Center. Here are some shots of the cooler items they saw while in sin city...

Christian here - Just wrapped up another Saturday. Met a nice woman today, Dallas, who bought a Specialized Allez Elite. Just started ridding with her boyfriend and wanted to start heading out on the road. Moved a set of Mavic R-Sys wheels today and a few other small items. Big Brian and Matt made plans for speed trials track in back of the shop. I believe construction may start as early as tomorrow. Stay tuned for some photos. Rob stopped by with photos from the Vegas Interbike Trip. I'll post some in the next few days.

Hey this is Christian. Jordan had 10th Ave. Burrito today and did some major cleaning of the showroom. Big Brian worked on his new steel lugged road bike and found a sweet old school Shimano 600 rear der, cerca 1970's to put on it. Matt stopped by to build his 9 spd. 26" Mountain Bike with a Sram x-7 kit. Chuck Garbe picked up a sweet new set of HED Ardennes for his Felt F3. Very nice wheels, with a unique wider rim for a smoother transition to the tire sidewall for less drag - pretty trick. Till next time.
